RAF High Ercall Memorial

On the 12th April 2024 courtesy of the Airfields of Britain Conservation Trust the High Ercall Airfield Memorial was officially unveiled at the entrance to Greenhous Village acknowledging the importance of High Ercall facility during the war. 
 
High Ercall's Airfield was used by RAF Maintenance Command at the start of the war, before being used by night fighter pilots in 1941. In 1942 it also became a base for US pilots, who flew Spitfires.
Later in the war it became a Training Base
